A cloud of darkness closes
I cannot see the light
Colors drain and life imposes
Sticks and stones I cannot fight

Daydreams turn into nightmares
Wishes have lost their power
Hope trickles out like lost tears
Turning minutes into hours

Lord, hear my prayer
Lord, hear my prayer
Let my cry come before you
Lord, hear my prayer

I pray for the help I cannot ask for
I pray for wisdom I don’t possess
I pray for the vision of my blessings
I pray for a life before I rest

Do not hide your face from me
In my time of trouble
Turn your ear to me
When I cry, answer me
